The sinister imitation
– an investigative work summarized in clothing.
A collection where the surface is clothed in a layer that imitates nature. Nature is made invisible in the clothing through the camouflaged surface; it is obscured and replaced by an image, a constructed picture, a simplification. The camouflage represents something that is lost. What remains is the garment, an empty shell with a surface that describes a desire to be united with nature by pruning it. The garment does not imitate the object or phenomenon of natural beauty as such, but natural beauty in the capacity as a sign for something else.
The work is documented and presented through a collection of garments and a film of segments from the process.

En kollektion där ytan är klädd i ett naturhärmande lager. I plaggen är naturen genom den kamouflerade ytan osynliggjord, undanskymd och ersatt av en avbild, en konstruerad bild, en förenkling. Kamouflaget representerar någonting som gått förlorat. Det som finns kvar är plaggen, tomma skal med en yta som skildrar en vilja att förenas med naturen genom att tukta den. Plaggen imiterar inte det natursköna föremålet eller fenomenet som sådant, utan det natursköna i egenskap av tecken för något annat.
