A cane imitating an elegant umbrella becomes a stylish accessory. What seems like two candleholders is actually a set of dumbbells camouflaged for the home environment. Silver jewellery in disguise for the man in a suit who is “not allowed” to wear jewellery.
I have explored the concept of camouflage within a design context. The purpose is to explore a design process where the only starting point is an abstract concept. The result is a collection of products and jewellery for men that with different strategies are concealing their actual function or purpose. These objects tell a story about camouflage, and on the way are also raising questions about gender preconceptions and design traditions.

Jag har undersökt idén om kamouflage ur en designkontext. Syftet är att utforska en designprocess där den enda utgångspunkten är ett abstrakt begrepp. Resultatet är en kollektion produkter och smycken för män, där föremålen döljer sin egentliga funktion eller syfte. De här föremålen berättar en historia om kamouflage och tar på vägen även upp frågor om genusfördomar och designtraditioner.
