Over the past few years, developments in the music industry has moved towards more and more artists recording their own music and releasing it on their own small independent labels. With the furniture I created in my degree project, I want to investigate whether a similar development is possible within the furniture industry. By jumping over the producer stage and involving the customer in the completion of my furniture, I want to find a method where I can work with small artisannaly produced furniture series and keep prices down at the same time.
De senaste åren har utvecklingen inom musikindustrin gått mot att allt fler artister spelar in sin egen musik och släpper den på egna små independentbolag. Jag vill med de möbler jag skapar i mitt examensarbete undersöka om en liknande utveckling är möjlig inom möbelindustrin. Genom att hoppa över producentledet och involvera kunden i färdigställandet av mina möbler vill jag hitta en metod där jag kan arbeta med små hantverksmässigt tillverkade möbelserier och samtidigt hålla nere priserna.
