Petr Davydtchenko

I was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. For the past three years I have been working mostly with scenographic installation and sculpture. I like to use different medias to create dimensions where the border between reality and fiction is blurred. I often see my work as visually heavy, complete and sometimes even over-burdened by meaning.

Combining symbolism, occult and subcultural references with minimalistic expression is the way of my practice. I am trying to develop new visual codes and reanimate old perception of “evil versus good” into something new. I usually get fully involved in my work, sometimes even using myself as an object.
